Timeline of Our Research for a Book on Barb's Life

Created on 6/29/2006

August, 2004

A friend informed us that Barbara had passed away

September, 2004

Began researching Barbara's past on the internet. We thought her life story would make a good book if we could get enough information

Sept 11,2004

Found her family members' dates of birth and complete names on the 1930 Census. Found the date of Barb's death. Did not proceed with the search

Nov, 2005

Began researching Barbara's past on the internet again. Found some possible addresses for her brother Bill. Sent a letter to the most likely address

Nov 13,2005

Received a call from Bill's daughterm Sharol. Her father had died a few months before and she was now living in his house. She brought up the possibility that Barbara could have been D.B. Cooper, but there would be no way to prove or disprove it now that Barb was deceased. Sharol agreed to help us with research for the book

Nov 25,2005

Sharol put us in touch with Barbara's daughter Rena abd Sharol's sister Billie. The agreed to assist with the research also.

Nov 29,2005

Completed first chapter and sent it to Sharol for review.

Dec 1,2005

Received first email from Barbara's daughter, Rena

Feb, 2006

Ron visits Barb's family in California. They supplied him with pictures of Barb before that surgery and directly after. They also loaned us several years worth of diaries that Barbara's mother had kept, plus several letters that Barb had written home as a young man. The letters provided proof of the fantastic stories that Barb had told us. Ron missed the opportunity to interview Barb's first wife. She had been anxious to talk with him, but went into the hospital the night he arrived and could not talk.

Mar, 2006

Continued to receive more pictures from Barb's relatives. Comparisons of the pictures with the sketches in the newspaper made us more suspicious that Barb was D. B. Cooper

Mar25,2006

Sent one of the envelopes Barb had sent to her parents to see if DNA could be retrieve. Received a DNA profile back.

Apr, 2006

Received some pictures and more details of Barb's life from Sharol's mother, Sharon

Apr,2006

With Rena's permission and assistance we were able to get a copy of Barbara's medical records and psychological evaluations.

May, 2006

By the time we finished the book, we were both convinced that Barbara was D.B. Cooper
